Before The Webscaper can provide ongoing maintenance, security, and support services for websites that we did not build, we require a discovery session to ensure that we can adequately and safely take over managing your website and greater ecosystem.
During this discovery session, we will log into your website’s Admin Dashboard (back end) where we can investigate your WordPress configuration, theme, plugins installed, versions of plugins/update history, and identify any functions or features that have been built or amended outside of core WordPress. We will also scan for viruses/malware and attempt to identify any security vulnerabilities.
When possible, we also request access to your website hosting provider, domain registration provider, and CDN service (if any), so we can investigate your hosting, domain, and DNS configuration to identify any potential issues we might run into in the transition to our services.
No changes to your website, plugins, hosting platform, domain provider, or any other third-party service will be made during discovery. After discovery is complete, you are encouraged to revoke our access and/or change your passwords.
