Third-Party Vendor Management

We challenge you: search the internet for other website maintenance providers, and find one that offers third-party vendor management listed in their service offerings. We don’t know of any that offer this outside of reseller arrangements (which we do not do). We suspect some must (or maybe now that we’ve published it, it will become a thing).

Let’s start with – what are website third-party vendors, and why do you want someone managing them?

Every website owner will be required to use at least some third-party vendors. At a minimum, you need a website hosting company, and a domain registrar. It is also wise to have an email provider that is separate from your website host or domain registrar. Some websites have more third-party vendors: email marketing services, hosted e-commerce store services, online payment processors, and so on.

Most web design shops will help you get set up with hosting and domain registration. But once they cut you loose and you’re on your own, you start to get emails: server maintenance will be occurring. Your domain needs to be renewed. Sign up for new security services. Your DNS servers need to be updated. Trying to decipher what these messages mean – and if they’re even legitimate – is overwhelming and takes precious time away from what you really need to be focused on.
